Meet Clementine
Our Story
Clementine Catering was born from a simple conviction: every gathering deserves food as thoughtful as the occasion itself. Founded by Steve Clements, a Kentucky native whose culinary career began in the restaurants of Louisville over four decades ago, Clementine brings a depth of experience that only time and repetition can produce. Steve's cooking is rooted in the traditions of the South -- seasonal, honest, and built around the best ingredients the Bluegrass region has to offer.
In recent years, Steve's daughter Grace Lindsey joined the business, bringing a new energy to Clementine's operations. A former teacher with a natural talent for organization and design, Grace now leads event planning and client relationships as Director of Catering and Events. Her husband James serves as Director of Strategy and Development, helping grow the business and manage key partnerships -- including Clementine's exclusive catering arrangement with the Peterson-Dumesnil House, an 1869 Italian villa in Crescent Hill that serves as the company's home base.
Together, the family brings a rare combination: decades of culinary craft, meticulous event coordination, and a genuine care for every couple, company, and family that walks through their door. Whether it's a rehearsal dinner for twenty or a tented reception for four hundred, the approach is the same -- listen first, then build something extraordinary around your vision.
A Family Business
Clementine is run by a family that works the way families do -- together, across generations, each person bringing something the others don't have. Steve brings four decades in the kitchen and a Louisville Rolodex that only time can build. Grace brings the eye, the energy, and the instinct for what today's couples actually want. James brings the steady hand on the business side.
It's not a corporate structure. It's a dinner table where the planning happens to include seating charts and wine pairings. That closeness shows up in the work -- in how quickly they read a room, how naturally they anticipate what a client needs, and how personally they take every event.

Our Promise
Every menu we create is built from scratch -- not pulled from a binder. We work with local farms, organic producers, and artisan purveyors across the Bluegrass to source ingredients at their peak. Your event gets a menu designed around your preferences, your season, and your story.
From tasting to teardown, our team is with you every step. That's the Clementine way.
